The establishment of the Tribal Court is outlined in Art. XXII of the Tribe’s Constitution. The judicial power of the Tribe shall be vested in such courts as the General Council may establish from time to time. The General Council may elect to enter into a contractual agreement to participate in an inter-tribal court system to provide judicial services to the Tribe, its members, and others subject to tribal jurisdiction.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians that its General Council does hereby approve this resolution to adopt an ordinance to formalize the structure of how the Tribe’s ordinances are categorized, which shall be entitled, “Tribal Ordinance Structure and Categorization.”
